PuTTY carries no licensing fee. On Windows, pick the 64-bit or 32-bit MSI so putty.exe, puttygen.exe, pscp.exe, psftp.exe, plink.exe, and pageant.exe land in one pass. Filenames usually echo your CPU architecture (most modern PCs take the 64-bit installer). After installation, follow the Setup guide on this site for the first launch and SSH login.
